I’ve eaten my fair share of torrone over the years: the classic Italian brands from Alba and Cremona, the soft Sicilian versions, even some fancy artisanal ones from small-batch producers in the U.S. None of them come close to this homemade batch.This torrone is absolute perfection.
The texture is dreamy – soft and chewy without being sticky or gummy, with that delicate honeycomb snap when you bite in. The nuts (perfectly toasted almonds and hazelnuts) are generous and evenly distributed, giving every piece a rich, buttery crunch. The honey flavor shines through bright and floral, not overly sweet, and there’s just the right whisper of vanilla and citrus zest that makes it feel elegant rather than cloying.What really sets it apart is how fresh it tastes. You can tell it was made with love and top-quality ingredients, no preservatives, no weird aftertaste. It literally melts in your mouth while somehow still having that satisfying nougat pull.
I had to hide the tin from myself to keep from finishing it in one sitting.If you’ve only ever had store-bought torrone, this will ruin you for life (in the best possible way). 11/10, the new gold standard. You need to open a torrone shop immediately!
