Our story
I grew up surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of an Italian kitchen. My parents owned a deli, butcher shop, and catering business, and both cooked like four-star chefs. We weren’t rich, but my three brothers and I ate like kings, raised on the best homemade Italian food around. And if you’ve ever known an Italian family in the food business, you know—if your parents own it, you work in it! We all learned to cook early, and to this day, my brother and I still end every meal with, “I can make it better.”
That same spirit carried over when it came to Torrone—the traditional Italian nougat candy often found around Christmas. Growing up, I’d eaten plenty of it, but it was always either too hard or flavorless. Years later, at the Feast of San Gennaro in New York City, I watched a man break a massive block of Torrone with a cleaver. It looked impressive—but it still didn’t taste like much.
Years later, I found an old recipe and began experimenting. After ten years of tweaking, I finally perfected a version that was soft, flavorful, and unlike any Torrone I’d ever had. When I shared it with family and friends, everyone said the same thing: “Where can I buy this?”
And that’s how Heavenly Torrone Candy Company was born. My son and I are proud to share our handmade Torrone with you—crafted with care, tradition, and a touch of sweetness we truly believe is a little piece of heaven.
